Iranian Missile Debris Falls On Jerusalem Holy Sites Of Jesus Christ’s Crucifixion And Resurrection Say Police


This footage shows the aftermath of a missile attack on Jerusalem with shrapnel from rockets fired by Iran having hit a number of religious sites associated with Jesus Christ after interceptors brought them down above the city.

This is according to the Israeli Police, who released the footage on 17th March, showing large fragments of missiles and pieces of interceptors found in multiple locations in the Old City.

 

These included the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, which also holds significance in Christianity and Islam, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, believed to be the site of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, as well as the Jewish Quarter, which were reportedly hit on 16th March.

The video shows Israeli police and bomb‑disposal teams cordoning off areas strewn with metal debris near ancient walls.

The Israel Police said in a statement: “In the latest barrage towards Jerusalem, impact sites were identified at the Temple Mount and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

“During the latest missile barrage fired from Iran towards Jerusalem, multiple interceptions occurred in the city skies, after which fragments of interceptors and missiles were found, some very large, at several locations in the Old City, including the Temple Mount plaza, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre complex, and the Jewish Quarter.

“Additional interceptor fragments were also identified at various locations in central Jerusalem and in eastern Jerusalem.

“Units from the Jerusalem District, police bomb disposal teams, and Border Police have isolated the sites and are currently working to remove any further risk to the public.

“The enemy does not distinguish between religions, synagogues, mosques or churches.

“The decision of the Israel Police to enforce the Home Front Command instructions and close the holy sites to worshippers and visitors is based on a situational assessment whose ultimate goal is one — saving human lives.”

Residents reported sirens wailing across the city, and several buildings sustained minor damage from falling debris.

Officials stressed that although the debris fell close to significant landmarks, there was no major damage to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Temple Mount compound.
